As you know, the internet is massive so trying to find good resources can be a time consuming and costly affair. As a teacher and keen guitarist I used to spend hours scouring YouTube etc. for good quality guitar tutorials only to find that many were simply not up to the task. That has changed to a certain extent now but most tutorial websites charge a premium to access their best content.
That’s why I decided to create this site. All the content here is free and created by myself; apart from a few links to specific videos from other content creators related to tips and tricks for beginners etc.

Thank you for your kind words. I looked at Patreon but decided it did not really suit my ethos. In order to set up a page I would have had to provide certain benefits at different donation levels such as withholding certain content for the highest contributers and that did not really sit well with me. I always wanted to keep all content free for everyone and let them decide if they wanted to donate or not through Gofundme or Paypal. All the best – Alan 🙂

Thank you so very much for your contributions to the guitar enthusiasts in the world. I’ve played the guitar every since I was about 8 years old. But, with no one to teach me the songs I wanted to play, I was limited to playing some old Country songs, and a few little ditties. My dad passed in 2010, and in 2017 my sister sent me his guitar.
During the plandemic, I decided to really get involved with it and learn to play better. The really crazy part is I’ve known most of the chords my entire life, but didn’t know that popular songs where played using the chords I’ve always known. On Utube I started watching your videos, and playing along with them, and I cannot believe all of the songs that I can play now. I try to practice for two hours during the night when everyone is asleep. I’m 65 now, I love playing classic rock songs, especially Pink Floyd, Guns & Roses, Bon-Jovi, Beatles, Stones, and many others. Please keep doing what you are doing. I love your teaching style, and you have helped me come a long way. I cannot thank you enough for what you do. I will contribute to your effort as much as I can afford. You helped me through a very rough time in history, and while I have lost lots of friends and relatives the past two years, your music teaching has helped me get through it. Thanks again for all that you do.

Just wanted to tell you how I can see all the work you have put in to your great site. I came across it looking to see if there is a copy of “Grow old with you” on the net. I am a music string instrument instructor specializing in guitar bedsides having worked in the tech industry retired now. I was so impressed by the amount of work you have done showing strumming patterns (something students always ask for ) and chord diagrams. I have t had chance to explore your site yet but from what I see and your lesson on that song this is a credit to our industry and I applaud you for it.

Thank you for your kind and generous donation, I was not expecting it but am truly grateful. I have attached and sent the song sheets I created when putting the original video together (11 years ago) I have also decided to recreate the video using my more modern recording and production methods so I will create a full tab over the coming weeks and email that to you when I have completed it. I have kept up with learning guitar only because you make it understandable (your method of organizing, producing, presenting) but also you make it a pleasant experience all around all the time. It has been years since I have been coming to your lessons and you’re the only one I recommend (and absolutely at that) to anyone interested in playing guitar. Simply no substitution. I want to thank you for all video tutorials you did. I’ve been “playing” guitar for 3 years however I picked it up only once in a half a year 🙂 I was learning how to play via various courses but my interest could last only for a week and I left guitar hanging for another six months. Thanks to your videos I learned a lot of songs I like to listen to and improved my skills. I play for a month steadily and I’m not planning on stopping.
I can’t convey all my gratitude to you through a email so I tried to donate on your Patreon but since I live in Russia all donation services are blocked.

I wanted to play the guitar when i was in the navy and thats 50 years ago! I went completly deaf about 20 years ago and gave the thought of Playing my songs from the 60’s up. I was devastated. I always loved music.
Anywhere the National Health donated 2 Cochlear Implants and i sort of started to hear again. Well sort of.
Them someone gave me a guitar and i stared at for 3 Months.
Looking through YouTube trying to find signlanguage there was you and “Let it be” and i thought “what a brilliant webside” and as i was on my own i played it with you. (Had a little cry as well) Well it worked and i have’nt stopped since then. I can control my Voice a little and thanks to you it’s “Elvis Presley in a care Home!” next week (all hard of hearing)
Can’t thank you enough Mate, you have done a brilliant Job.

Hey thank you my friend. It’s alway so reassuring to find good people in this crazy world today(that will give their time.. for free.. that is). Just came across ya today when trying to figure out Bad Company’s Seagul. I really appreciate how you showed the different chord progression walk downs. Played for over 30+ years and a couple of those were new to me(course.. I tought myself.. and wasn’t a very good student/or teacher lol).
